All the beaches of the municipality of Gythion (Selinitsa, Mavrovouni, Vathy, Ageranos, Kamares, Skoutari) have been awarded several times with the blue flag because they meet the "highest standards of bathing water quality".
From the southern end of the beach of Vathi, another wonderful coastline begins and if you follow it, you will reach the village of Ageranos with the impressive war tower of Antonompei. There lies the beach of Kamari and Skoutari bay.
The most famous beach of Gythion is Mavrovouni and is placed at approximately 2 km to the south of the town, right below Mavrovouni village. The length of the beach is about 5 km and is the largest one around Mani, and that is why it never gets too crowded.
